Fleet Inspection Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our goal is to support our customers and ensure their satisfaction. In many cases we are able to have an inspector travel to locations outside of the core areas identified on our coverage map. Please contact us at info@custom-inspection-solutions or schedule a meeting to discuss your specific needs.

  • We inspect a wide range of trucks and trailers, construction and agriculture equipment, buses and much more. We are committed to finding a solution for every customer’s unique needs, so if you don’t see your vehicle listed on our home page contact us at info@custom-inspection-solutions or schedule a meeting to discuss your specific needs.

  • Unlike some inspection companies who rely solely on photographs or drone footage for their inspections and valuations, CIS inspects vehicles on site, using experienced inspectors. Our detailed condition reports and photos undergo quality control by a certified master technician/diesel mechanic with 25+ years’ experience including diesel and gas powertrains, hydraulics, and fleet maintenance. We are also able to accommodate requests for inspectors with specific experience, qualifications, and diagnostic equipment.

  • We strive to balance the power of technology with a human touch. We believe that accurate inspections and valuations can only be achieved when an experienced inspector conducts a thorough evaluation in person. No photograph or drone can replicate the quality and accuracy of our inspector team. However, we do leverage technology and AI to capture data from the inspections, support consistency of reporting, and ensure accuracy. Our final quality control step includes review of all final reports by certified master technician / diesel mechanic with 25+ years’ experience including diesel and gas powertrains, hydraulics, and fleet maintenance. This combination of human touch and technology allows Custom Inspection Solutions to offer inspections of the highest quality, accuracy, and consistency, that enable our customers to make critical business decisions.

  • Independent fleet inspections give buyers peace of mind, help them make informed, data-supported investment decisions, and enhance negotiation leverage. In 2024 alone, CIS inspected 650 vehicles as part of various M&A transactions. Those inspections generated a 1:7 ROI (Return on Investment), revealing over 50% of the trucks failed to meet DOT requirements, an estimated $1.7 million in deferred maintenance expenses across failed assets, and $46 million in market value of non-compliant trucks.
